2nd International Orphan Meeting was held on 26-27-28 April 2010 in Beirut the capital of Lebanon
The meeting that was held in a period in which the children especially the ones in Palestine under occupation has been maltreatment and rapes in the presidency of Saat El Hairiri who is the Prime Minister of Lebanon has been attended by local and foreign relief agencies.
In addition to Palestine, Egypt, Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Algeria, Sudan, Qatar, Turkey and Malaysia there were also Norway, Greece, Ukraine, England, Russia, Austria, and France from Europe.
Islam countries and 75 organization representatives have attended to the meeting in which Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organization has been represented by Cansuyu Istanbul Representative Foreign Affairs Responsible Åžerafettin MollaoÄŸlu
The proposal of Cansuyu regarding Orphan Center has been accepted
Cansuyu Istanbul Representative Foreign Affairs Responsible Åžerafettin MollaoÄŸlu made a speech in the meeting and said that there were orphans not only in Palestine and Iraq but also other parts of the world suffering from wars and the issues of all orphans should be assessed and solutions should be researched.
He continued: “We have to be in the side of Chechen, Afghan, Pakistani and other Muslim orphans too”. He proposed the construction of an international orphan center to perform activities as ICO commission. The proposal of MollaoÄŸlu has been accepted and international orphan protection network has been created.
The representatives of Arab countries proposed imposing Arab identity to children which was rejected by MollaoÄŸlu and he proposed Islam identity instead of Arab identity.
Hand in hand for children in safe
The meeting was held with Hand in hand for children in safe slogan and a sub presentation has been made and discussed by the participants. Following issues has been mentioned in the presentations:
1-, Health condition of Gaza children under occupation
2- Children and drugs, problems and solutions
3- Social conditions and psychological problems of children in occupied Iraq and Palestine
4- The conditions of Palestinian children in Israelite prisons under the shadow of children rights agreement.
5- Imposing Islam identity to children
6- International responsibilities in the protection of children.
Final declaration has been published and distributed to the press at the end of the meeting.
FINAL DECLARATION OF
INTERNATIONAL SECOND ORPHAN MEETING OF INSURANCE ORGANIZATION
The participants have provided the following suggestions:
1- The Insurance organization has been a appreciable association with its efforts in participation, regulation and performance of the meeting as well as the activities for the orphan children.
2- The participants expressed the issues of children of the world especially the children in occupied Iraq and Palestine. The participants have requested that international society be more conscious about this subject and the children tortured in the prisons of Israel should be protected and Israel authorizers should be punished for their breaches to human and children rights.
3- The participants wanted serious and concrete acts of Islam Conference Organization, Arab League and UN about imposing Islam and Arab identity to children living in Muslim regions and to protect Iraq and Palestine children within international arena.
4- The participants emphasized that the embargo upon Gaza should be ended immediately and the gates should be opened to let the assistances be delivered to Gaza and required pressure should be made to Israel.
5- Required medication should be sent to region to be able to solve the health issues in Palestine, and it was stated that Israel should do it itself in accordance with the international laws to meet the requirements of the hospital in region. It was also expressed that the words should be put into action.
6-The participants emphasize that the children tortured in the prison of Israel should be set free immediately. The psychological and physical tortures applied by Israel are real according to the number, historical and witnesses and this problem should be solved by applying related international courts.
7- In the meeting it was emphasized the negative sides of increasing drug used by Muslim and Arab children and it was said that educational programs and health opportunities should be developed to solve this problem
8-It was expressed that international visual and printed media should bring the tortures applied to Palestinian children in Israelite prisons and that subject should be maintained as a topic in the media.
9- Material and spiritual conditions of the children in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon should be developed.
10- It was decided to found a protection network for Palestinian and Iraq children upon request of some participants and related studies should be carried out and participants should be informed. The willing organization will be able to member of Palestinian and Iraq orphan protection network.
11-. The participants thanked to Lebanon Prime Minister Saat El Hariri, Saudi Arabi aQueen and ETTEKAFUL Organization holding this meeting.
