Cansuyu binds up the wounds in Pakistan

After the flood disaster in Pakistan, Cansuyu started an urgent assistance campaign. Cansuyu assistance teams that went to Pakistan for assistance activities started the distribution of donations consisting of food and clothes

Cansuyu realized food distribution to one thousand of families in Peshawar, passes to Multan region after Peshawar and continued to perform distribution to 2 thousand of families within the frame of assistance activities. 

Cansuyu External Relations Coordinator Turgay AyvazoÄŸlu gave information about the last condition of Pakistan which has lived the most dramatic flood disaster of last 35 years. According to the official records 20 millions of people have been affected by the flood and 2000 people died and more than 3000 people have been lost.

Contagious Disease Threat

AyvazoÄŸlu said that they have been facing with a lot of difficulties during the assistance activities said that they are in difficult condition as the roads and bridges have been completely demolished which make the transfer of the donations very difficult.

AyvazoÄŸlu said that 10 million of 20 millions affected from the flood have lost their houses completely and since a lot of animals have died and shortage of clean potable water contagious disease started to appear. Especially the children between 0-5 years old are under severe life threat.

AyvazoÄŸlu expressed that Cansuyu assistance teams would continue their activities in the region and they will orientate their assistance operations in accordance with analyzes made in the region and case assessments.
