Islam Conference Organization Member Countries Aid Organizations 3rd meeting has been held between 7 and 8 March 2010 in Doha in the capital of Qatar.
General Director Mustafa Köylü and Deputy General Director Celal Asiltürk represented Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation in the meeting to which approximately 200 representatives participated from 70 various humanitarian aid organizations being member of ICO
The meeting was made under the title of “Hand in hand for more cooperation” and the assistance issues for the countries such as Niger, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somali, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan and Palestine which have been hit by war, natural disasters etc.
ICO General Secretary Professor Ihsanoglu made the assessment speech of the meeting and pointed out that the cooperation and assistance between the Islam countries should increase and invited all humanitarian aid and assistance organization in Islam countries to be in cooperation.
The representatives of the member countries had their speeches and they have shared opinions regarding the necessity of acting all together for humanitarian assistance. Besides, the problems faced during the humanitarian aid activities, the methods to follow to be able to overcome these and the effect of Islam Conference Organization within the humanitarian aid activities have been analyzed.
The working programs have been discussed and it has been emphasized that the Islam Conference Organization and humanitarian aid organization being the member countries should be in cooperated activities.
Ihsanoglu was informed about the activities of Cansuyu
At the end of the meeting, Cansuyu General Director Mustafa Köylü and Cansuyu Deputy General Director Celal Asiltürk had a private meeting with ICO General Secretary Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu. Ihsanoglu has been informed by Cansuyu committee about the activities performed in Middle East and Africa and they asked for the augmentation of support of ICO for the ongoing projects.
Some of the decisions of the meeting:
1- application of the ethical and behavioral rules for the participants of the meeting will be prepared by the organization with international research and development center (u.a.g), experienced people of Islam world, academicians, experts of that subject and Islamic Law Council will be used as well as the specialist out of the Islam world.
2- The meeting place, date and subject of the next meeting shall be transferred to the participants at least one month before the meeting
3- The participant aid organization and the organizations taking care of the subject will materially help the International Islam Association to be able to prepare ethical and behavioral rules and host the meetings and studies to be performed about that subject in the future.
4- The mutual cooperation between aid organization and Islam Conference Organization shall be developed.
5- Niger, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somali, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Darfur and Gaza in Palestine shall be helped in cooperation.
