International Federation for Relief and Development that has been founded last year with the participation of 10 relief agencies from 10 countries has held the second Executive Board meeting this year. The meetings will be held in Istanbul Cevahir Hotel in the homeownership of Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organization. General Director of Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organization who has assessed the meeting that would last three days said that an umbrella organization is required to spread assistance and it make it even more effective and that this organization would provide sub systems to a bigger organization which is the reason of participating to that federation in the name of Turkey. Köylü who is the General Director Assistant of IFRD said: “Even though we have currently had ten relief agencies from 10 countries, the number of these relief agencies would increase every single day and the field of activity would increase every passing day. Would you please inform us about International Federation for Relief and Development?
Mustafa KÖYLÜ-We founded International Federation for Relief and Development, we call it shortly IFRD, in Malaysia last year. This federation was founded with ten relief agencies from ten different countries.With the permission of Allah we will increase the number of country and relief agencies and we will continue our activities which will lead the respect showed to this federation throughout the world.
Which countries are founders?
MUSTAFA KÖYLÜ-One relief agency from Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Philippines participated and this federation has been founded
What are the goals and targets of this federation?
Mustafa KÖYLÜ-The goals of this federation is to provide a big scale of aid that might be needed within especially one of the founder countries. It will provide coordination between the relief agencies of these countries and the aid will be given in a more comprehensive manner, more organized assistance will be provided which are among our targets and goals as federation. If there is an issue somewhere, the relief agencies of the countries founding this federation will be mobilized in that place and a more effective assistance will be obtained.
One another goal of this federation is to reflect the negative or positive issues to the public opinion of these countries. Thus an effective cooperation will be provided and a public opinion will be created in those countries.
What is the position of International Federation for Relief and Development within this federation?
Mustafa KÖYLÜ- Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organization is the founder member of this federation. We, as Cansuyu, are also Deputy General Director of the federation
Second meeting of Executive Board of this federation will be held in our country by Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organization. What will be the primary subject and topics of this meeting?
Mustafa KÖYLÜ-We, Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organizationwill do the second Executive Board Meeting. Our first meeting has been made right after the foundation within the general committee meeting. Therefore we have held a meeting. The issues could not be discussed sufficiently. We can say that the meeting during which the problems will be discusses with all extend will be a first one for us. The executive committee of the member countries of Federation will participate to this meeting. During the meeting we will discuss what the federation will do, its orientation, field of activities, current potential, the methods to be followed in the relief organizations, the liabilities of the countries in an emergency case, what kind of communication means and networks will be used and the methods will be decided with the permission of Allah.
When and where will the meetings be held?
Mustafa KÖYLÜ-The meetings will be held during 3 days between 27 and 29 April at Istanbul Cevahir Hotel. As the hosts we have made all preparations and we are waiting our guests.
What is the total population of this federation? What will the target population be?
Mustafa KÖYLÜ-When we take the populations of the founder members of International Federation for Relief and Development, total populations is about 2 billion. This is a tremendous population which reveals the power we could have. Our hopes are doubled when we think about the assistance potential of this number in case of a disaster; May Allah protects everyone, in any member country. I believe that this population would make it possible to reach any part of the world with a proper and correct organization.
