DADAAB- Abdullah Muhammed, who has been since a very young age and who has to earn money for his family is only one thousands of Kenyan children affected by the drought and famine. Orphan Abdullah got the provisions donated to Kenya by Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organization is praying for the donators of these assistances.

Abdullah is 13 years old now. His father, HaÅŸim Muhammed who was a camel shepherd died when Abdullah was 7 years old. When his father died he started to work to take care of two sisters and of his mother. He started to be a shepherd which was the only thing he could do.

The drought started three years ago affected the camels and killed them so Badullah took his mother and sisters and depart to Garissa city which two hundred kilometers away just like his neighbors did. A while after Abdullah had scar on his foot but he and his family could arrive to Garissa city after two weeks of walking day and night. The scar in his foot got bigger and covered the whole foot and he had to see a doctor who told him the fact that would make his life even more difficult. He had the operation that would convict him to crutches and he let us gangrene foot be cut. Now Abdullah has to carry his family with one foot.

We met Abdullah while distributing the assistances sent by Cansuyu Assistance and Cooperation Organization to the read districts of Madogo which one of the villages close to Garissa city. The leader of that region told the story of Abdullah. He is learning Koran in an orphanage in Madogo. He gives Koran courses to the younger orphans when he has free time. The orphanage gives Abdullah 50 Chilling (0, 30 Euro) per day upon these good things he does. The food packages given by Cansuyu make Abdullah very happy. He says that the package of food will be sufficient for his family for one month and that he would give of himself upon the provisions sent by the benefactors of Cansuyu. When we ask he makes us cry: “ We can’t thank enough t o our Muslim brothers who share their food by cutting from their tables, food by thinking of their Muslim brothers in Turkey. Thanks to Allah, Turks exist. Thanks to Allah we have Muslim brothers there. We can’t thank to Allah for this. If our Muslim brothers in Turkey send us from their food I will do something for them as much as I can. The food package you gave us will be sufficient for my family for one month. I will not worry about how to bring bread to my family for one month. I will not receive a Chilling during this one month. May Allah accept your donations”.

Abdullah Muhammed is only one of thousands orphans in need in Kenya. When we consider the drought and famine Abdullah Muhammed is only one of millions of people in need in Africa. And Abdullah is waiting for help not only from Turkey but also from All Muslims.
